I really like Sarah Palin! She comes across as really nice, personable and smart. However, if she were so nice then she wouldn't be against gays adopting (all kids deserve to be raised with love....even if it's by gay people like myself). According to her I shouldn't be a father. According to Sarah Palin my son, Joe, should have been left in a foster home that had over 13 kids....but that's a better environment because the foster parent's are straight. It doesn't matter that this straight couple only wanted to be foster parent's for financial reasons. According to Sarah Palin I shouldn't be allowed to marry the person that I want to spend the rest of my life with. According to Sarah Palin the person I love will somehow interfere with her marriage. According to Sarah Palin I shouldn't be allowed to visit my partner in the hospital. I shouldn't be allowed to make medical decisions on my partner's behalf. According to Sarah Palin a very distant cousing who hasn't seen my partner in 20 years would have more insight to make medical decisions. According to Sarah Palin it's okay that I have to pay the same taxes as she does but not afforded the same benefits. My friend, Dan, sums it up prefectly...
"Change happens because the American people demand it -- because they rise up and insist on new ideas and new leadership, a new politics for a new time. America, this is one of those moments,"
"I believe that as hard as it will be, the change we need is coming."
--Barack Obama
I think Obama is in trouble. I'm looking at the traffic to the pro Hillary blogs and I've never seen them all so active. Since McCain is trying to upstage Obama's performance from last night....Obama should come out with something that would energize the women vote on his own. He needs to do something other than just say nice things about Hillary.
I think Palin is a very smart pick for McCain, however, I also believe that she is too conservative. She is pro-life which is going to turn a lot of women off. She's also caught up in her own scandal in Alaska.
